Original Great Western Gun Works Rifle by J.H. Johnston from Pittsburgh, PA - Rifle could be serviceable with some minor clean up. Barrel is brown with some darker spots and scuffs throughout. Wood has some scratches and scuffs with only one minor crack at the lock mounting screw. Hammer has some metal missing around the area that engages the cap. Bore appears clean from looking with a flash light - no major pitting or rust. Ramrod missing. Asking $400 plus $35 shipping.

The barrel is 34 inches long, length of pull from 1st trigger to center of the butt plate is 13.5 inches. I cannot find my calipers, my brass bore measure reads it at 40 Caliber.

My bore light doesn't fit. Just from looking down the bore with a flash light, I do not see any major pitting or rust, that being said the bore is not bright, shiny or new....it a 130+ year old gun. Shoot-able condition condition barrel in my opinion.
