I was in a local gun store this afternoon. I don't go there much as they tend to sell mainly EBRs & other modern stuff, however today they had a couple of nice looking muzzleloaders. The one that caught my eye the most was a .62 caliber Centermark Fusil de Chasse. I didn't get a real close look as it was in a display case & I'm not really in a buying position right now, but it looked to be in quite nice condition. They had it marked at $600 which seemed like a decent price, am I wrong?

i agree- the barrel and lock will set you back nearly that much. unless there is some compelling reason not to buy it (i.e. bulges in the barrel or big gnarly rust bits in the bore or the stock falls apart when you put it to your shoulder), you should dicker them down and get out your wallet.

just one guy's free opinion, and no doubt worth what you paid for it.

Agreed if the barrel and lock are in good shape that is a heck of a buy. I think Centermark charges around 1300.00 for a new fusil.
