Hello. I am new here. I got out of muzzleloading some years ago when I had to move from VA mountains to Florida. I have now decided to never give it up again. I like flintlock and am in need of real black. 3F and 4F. Does anyone know where I can buy some. Thanks in advance.
Oh I ought to say I sold all my longrifles but now have on order from Midsouth a Lyman/Pedersoli GPR in flintlock. Expensive! The new signature series. Hello to all.

Welcome from Oklahoma.
Unfortunately, Goex went out of business recently. The company has been purchased by another entity and may start production again sometime in the near future.
For now, Swiss and Schuetzen powders are the only real black available.
You could check some of your local shops or order online.
As mentioned, Graf&sons or Buffalo Arms are reputable companies to order supplies from.

These days you'll either have to pool your order with a local charter club, a reenactor group, or pony up hazmat and shipping fees. Storage and insurance regs have made it nearly economically impossible for a small shop to carry it anymore.

The Goex plant blew up yet again and as a result they were divested from Hogdon. Estes purchased the brand is supposed to be going back into production. In the meantime, Scheutzen and Swiss are available and are great powders.
