Time again for our annual Fall Primitive shoot. Event starts Friday October 8th and will end on Sunday October 10th. Overnight camping available. Campers may arrive Thursday afternoon to set up. Check out our website for directions and a schedule of events. www.frenchbroadrifles.com

Club name, many groups use the term Rifles with a place name, i.e. Shenandoah Rifles.
The French Broad is our local River and depending on what lore you follow, it refers to a certain woman known to entertain men at one of the way stations along the river route or it refers to the Broad river that flows up to the French territory.

Nameless Hunter wins the Google award for this post! Yes it starts up above Brevard NC flows through Asheville and past Hot Springs to end up in Lake Douglass in TN.
Our range is located near Marshall NC which is just northwest of Asheville. Our website (address in original post) has good directions and a google map link. Beautiful setting in a mountain cove. Our woodswalk meanders up a mountain path and ends on a broad clearing with long range scenery.

I am tracking the weather and it looks like a good weekend this year. Morning showers on Friday and then partly cloudy for the weekend. Temperatures in the 70's with lows in the 50's. That will be very comfortable and not at all cold overnite.
