Anyone here get to the FHBPB Flying M event near Yamhill Oregon this weekend? I stopped by for a walk thru and saw a couple of familiar faces, it was pretty muddy but that is an Oregon 'Vous, not many vendors but it looked to be a fair turnout of shooters and campers both modern and primitive, this year it was in a different part of the ranch than in the past, twenty years ago I trapped nuisance Beaver a stones throw from traders row, I hope the club can stay here in the future as it is a beautiful place for monthly shoots and special events. It would really be a bonus if Deer hunting permissions went with the deal, I used too get that when trapping Beaver for the owner but do not know if club members ever had the privilage in general.

Well, Brett didnt make it this year, even though its up the road about 15 miles.
Been busy at work, stuff mounting up at home and its been raining nonstop. If you know the area where the rondy was held this year, you will understand that it is wet and muddy.

A little time off from the guns will keep me sharper in the long run and also get swmbo's muscle car on the road all that much sooner!

As far as the site goes, it would be nice to have it to call home, as our current(short lived) site isnt doing so well with joint and absentee owners.
Land use issues also are a concern these days so we need to take the time and find the best ideal site!

all that said, the weather still sucked this weekend and my hat is off to those who went up and endured the coast range weather offerings!

It was good to see it in familiar territory again but it as a mess kind of a gamble for those without 4x4 to get into some of the areas, I walked thru the primitive camp loop looking a bit out of place in the 1760 clothing amidst all the RMFT folks but as usuall all were well mannered and friendly and I reflected on trapping nuisance Beaver on a flooded Alder choked bench on the other side of the river for Bryce twenty years ago, I hope the club can pull a rabbit out of its coonskin cap and keep things going this has been a tradition around here for decades.

Gene, Your words right here...

"I hope the club can pull a rabbit out of its coonskin cap and keep things going this has been a tradition around here for decades."

are exactly the right words!
I hope others of the area may read this somehow.
