THe shape is what i can describe as a semiwadcutter hollow point.On the other hand,if loaded on backwards is what could be describe as a wadcutter with an obsene hollow point :rotf:

Sounds like you are shooting a hollow based Semi-wadcutter.

A really Great Book to read is " The Caplock Muzzleloading Rifle" by Mr. Ned Roberts.He tells about alot of bear hunts where he uses a .45 rifle. The book has alot of great reading in it concerning all aspects of muzzleloading rifles.
