Congratulations! It’s been a long time since I hunted in WV. I never got a buck . But got a doe 3 years in a row during the archery season. That was before I go into muzzle loading. Where I hunted in Hardy County, (George Washington National Forest) you either go up hill or down hill.

I've hunted the forest a few times now. Definitely some steep stuff
 
Congratulations on a successful hunt...with a flintlock too... That is awesome...hope it's the first of many with that rifle
