I Just read an article in the American Rifleman about damascening of firearms. There are also numerous You Tube videos on it as well. Most of what they showed as examples were on more modern cartridge guns, but the art form has been around over 500 years, and embellished many things other than firearms. Most of the work seems to have originated in Spain and that area, and it would seem it must have been done on some very high end presentation muzzle loaders (which means they probably have survived).
Has anyone here attempted to try it? If so, what were your results? It would seem to be most appropriate for guns that are more European in styling than our American styles. Both a "labor of love" and a "love of labor" at the same time
