Well here are the completed photo's of my fowler kit! Only a week of working in the evenings, so not too bad. I kept it all pretty basic although I shaped the inlet and tang. I polished all the metal parts bright, and stained the stock with vinegar stain. The wood actually looks almost like ebony! Looks great with the polished metal, although I am sure it will all tarnish over time.
I pinned the trigger guard, pipes and barrel. Emory clothing the mill marks and castings smooth was probably the most time consuming.
I burnished the stock after staining and then hand rubbed tru-oil into the wood till it began to get tacky, then let it dry between coats. I put on about 10 coats of oil, then rubbed the stock down with a little wax.
Thanks for all the help guys and let me now what you think. Sorry the pictures are not a little better. Matt
