I'm looking at a Dixie 50 cal. (1:56 twist) Pennsylvania Percussion rifle for sale in excellent condition for $350.00 only has 25 to 30 rounds through it. I was wondering if any of you own one. Are they good accurate guns? for what they go for brand new, it seems like a pretty good deal. I'm trying to make up my mind between the pa rifle or an Austin halleck flintlock.

The early Austin &Halleck rifles were top quality. Not so the end of the run after company management/ownership changes. The Pedersoli s are good quality and worth the money. When buying any used gun be sure to check the bore condition. You need only a few shots and not cleaning and oiling the bore to ruin a rifle. :idunno:
