Davy Crockett's rifle?

An article in today's news paper stated that Phil Collins, the British rocker, just donated Davey Crockett's rifle from the Alamo to the Alamo museum. Along with his shooting bag and Jim Bowie's knife.

Anybody else hear about that?

Story's been around for some time and keeps coming back up...got to believe they're working the publicity thing.

Excepting that, it's a nice gesture but which Crockett rifle and which Bowie we talking about...they both had several of each and I'd like to see the provenance going with either.

Phil Collins is a big Alamo history buff. I understand that he had the largest collection of Alamo artifacts in private hands. He just up and donated it all to the Alamo. There was a lot more than a gun, a bag, and a knife.
