Any idea for a jag to clean .300 smoothbore everything I have tried either gets stuck on the back stroke or looses the patch. I'm thinking about some 30 caliber mops but not sure if they would leave the bore dry enough between shots

Buy two 7.62 GI cleaning kits and piece them together to make a long one. I did this with the 5.56 kit to make one long one cleaning rod. I also did this with two Outers shotgun cleaning rods. I use that on my 32ga m/l shotgun.

I don't know about anybody else but I'd love to see a picture of that gun.

Have you tried tow on a tow worm?
I'm in the exact opposite situation. I have a .75 cal Brown Bess. However, nothing was working for me until I bought some tow and did it old-school.

I will give that a try, I ended up pulling the breech plug last night and working on getting in cleaned out now. Part of the problem is fouling and rust down in the barrel that I couldn't see from the muzzle end.
