I weigh mine a bit different, but for the same effect.
I have a "master" ball of each size that is a pure lead, heaviest I have found.
I use it to zero the scale.
From there it's a fast pass through the new balls, anything more than 1% off goes back for re-melt.
Just to show that bottom dumpers are just as good, that reject rate is normally 2 or 3 balls per hundred that do not pass.
I shoot target, match and use them for hunting. No need to keep separate balls for hunting and play, they all shoot the same. (If I do my part)
In the above example, Barry's .360 home cast balls have a 2/114 = 98.2% pass rate, very close to what I get with my bottom dumper.
The Hornady .350 swagged balls 56/77 = 51.7% pass rate.
Looks like your home cast beats the snot out of the swagged store bought balls...
(I get similar results from swagged balls I buy too.
I also do sanity checks with the ball weight calculator to check the quality of the lead I get, a pure lead ball is always the heaviest.
