put some clean sand in it, about 1" and about 2 cups of watter
swish it around for a couple minutes and dump it out then rinse real well

don't use soap or detergent, you'll never get that soapy taste out of it

Try ice & corse salt, I have used it many times to clean out the old small top glass coffee pots. A handfull of crushed ice & a table spoon of salt, swish it around hard 2min. then wash it out.

You mean a pocket flask,

I just rinse mine with water a bunch, then leave the lid off to dry well.

I do home brewing(beer and wine) they make a lot of different sanitizing agents. But one old standby is just to fill it with warm water and about 1-2 tablespoons of common houshold bleach per gallon. let sit for abt an hour to overnight and dump. A lot of people have a problem with this because its very hard afterward to get rid of the bleach smell. Bleach is a heavy alkaline. just rinse with cold water and a bit of white vinegar, an acid base that renders any remaining bleach into a form of sodium (salt) easily rinsed away its just a cheap common houshold remedy that works as good as any.

Vinegar/water is also a good cleaner, and when your done cleaning stuff a paper towel in the spout like a molotov cocktain and then turn it upside down to dry. Vinegar is also good to mix lightly with your water for drinkin.
