Hello,

Strange request I am doing a living history presentation in a month and wanted to talk about the history of black powder from it inception to the end of the colonial period. Ergo I need to do research so is there any websites books with information that I could do research with. So if you have knowledge of a good book/books or website I'd appreciate it thanks.

Go to the Wikipedia listing for Gunpowder

Yes, I wrote Wikipedia...

Then scroll down to the bottom of the article, and look at the long list of references, and start with the reference sources used in the "History" portion of the Wikipedia article and go from there.

This Guy makes his own powder (and a hand gonne). He has some neat stuff about recipes and methods.

A small (60+ pages) summary that you might find useful is:
"Explosives in History - The Story of Black Powder" by Norman B. Wilkinson, published by the Hagley Museum (the former DuPont plant in Delaware).

I enjoyed this book.
