Going through my safe, I found a can of Austin black powder. It's stamped "Musket" and appears to be 3F.

I don't remember where I got it or how long I've had it. I think an old lady gave it to me several years ago; her husband was a shooter and died and she wanted to get rid of stuff as she was afraid of it blowing up.

But I don't know that. Anyway, Austin is still in business and from my research, making industrial explosives. I have no idea when the "Musket" powder was made, or when they stopped making sporting BP. If anyone has any information or opinions on this, I'd appreciate it.

I have a partial pound can of Austin "Pistol" powder. Shoots OK but very dirty in my rifle. Can looks like a GOEX can but unpainted(silver) with applied red and white label. No idea where it came from.
