1 part Ballistol 10 parts water until clean. Then leave a coat of 100% ballistol in the barrel.
 
After cleaning wipe barrel out with SLIP 2000EWL or automatic transmission fluid no rust wipe barrel dry before shooting
 
I second...the Rem oil. I have several rifles and pistols. I keep records on cleaning and dates, that each rifle was checked. This process went on for over a year. No matter what you use, make sure the last patch comes out clean. Oil the barrel (Rem oil works.) Check the barrel the next few days following the cleaning. Check the barrel a week later, then a month later. Different barrels have different types of rifling and some are easier to protect than others. Learn what that particular barrel likes. If you're too lazy to do this, then expect rust.
