Anyone recall the 'Cardboard tube muzzleloading tests' published in Muzzle Blasts?

I keep hearing references to tests conducted by or at least reported in Muzzle Blasts, where cardboard tubes were loaded up with large loads of BP and in every instance (or as I am led to believe anyway) the tubes survived and the loads shot out of the capped cardboard tubes.

Does anyone have these tests they can share?

So if the cardboard tubes were spiral wrapped, would that make them rifled or smoothbore. Inquiring minds want to know.....
