I’m putting up my custom Kit Carson style 50cal Hawken rifle. Walnut stock, 35inch browned 1inch wide (flat across to flat) Douglas barrel, good rifling, stock has a few handling marks and imperfections from normal use. No wood cracks. Browning shows some wear but in my opinion shows character. Not sure of the lock maker or who put this rifle together. Gun functions perfectly at half and full cock. Asking $925……thanks……Tom 918-869-0577

For comparison.....if it will settle the issue. I have a Hawken with 1" X 35" barrel and it weighs 10lbs 3oz. Mine is a 54 caliber so a 50 would certainly weigh more. Probably around 11 lbs.

Where are you located? If you’re not too far away from Oklahoma I’ll include free shipping. If you’re far east or west, let’s say east past Tennessee or so I probably better add around $15 on to the shipping. That goes the same for the west past the Rockies. Does that sound reasonable? Shipping has gotten rediculous and I’ve burned myself being too conservative.

Dry all….I appreciate your input. I never have heard of the gun weight of a Hawken type gun being an issue unless it was one of the super heavy bench-shooting target rifles. I would say this would be of a weight that one would expect from this type of rifle. They are stout rifles unlike a Fowler smooth bore type gun.
