I got a Euroarms 1851 Navy (dated XX9 - 1973) cheap because the cylinder stop does not catch about half the chambers notches. It appears that some one used a stone on the top of the bolt. It appears rounded off enough that it would not catch. At this point i figure a new Euroarms bolt is probably out of the question. What can be done to extend the top of the bolt and make it fit properly?

Peen it? weld a bead on top? How close is a Pietta in size? Suggestions

Cylinder stops are under $10.00 and should be available most anywhere through dealers. Can't say I've seen those from every maker but have found most to be usable, regardless of who made them....there are exceptions, of course, but you should be able to pick one up somewhere.
