I'm getting comparable results to you ,sizing to 575,and not cleaning between shots, using between 50 and 65 grains of goex 2f.Still experimenting Rcbs 500m mini, and the best results so far with a lee minie that I've shortened the base plug on to resemble the...

    LMF browning process

Great photos meteorman, that is the finish Im goin to go for. Scalding only after the browning is complete sounds much easyer than after each coat. I guess I should play around with some scrap before I plunge in. thanx

    T.O.W trade gun kit

Well one of the reasons I was goin with TOW was the shop work they offer (ie;the soldering). The out of stock thing worries me,I was "next week"ed once for 8 months before I cancelled the order, car parts,it was frustrating. Im looking around more now,Chambers has a left hand fowler and I...

    T.O.W trade gun kit

Ive been shooting a gpr,50cal flinter for about 3yrs,my only muzzel loader, love it,now Im thinkin I need a smooth bore. I do most of my hunting with a little savage 24,thats 30/30 over 20ga.Ive found that 20ga to be great for both shot and slug,so I decided on .62 cal for my smoothy.Plus that...

    removing liner when cleaning.

I have a 50cal. gpr,and I was wondering if I have to remove the tough hole liner everytime I clean? I put the breech in a bucket of hot water and pump a patch to clean the barrel, not sure if Im wearing stuff out prematurely removing it everytime. I put alittle anti-sieze on the threads everytime...

    replacing rear sight lyman GPR

The primitive sight was a few thou undersize,in thickness, but I think that is common.I read one post where a fella had tried a couple of replacements and they were all small. The solder sounds like a much better idea than my shims(wish I'd thought of that),but the shims seem OK with the gun...

    replacing rear sight lyman GPR

I just removed the adjustable rear sight that was factory installed on my GPR,and when I went to put on the primitive rear sight (included with the gun)it was way undersize, slipped right through the dovetail. So.....I cut shims from an aluminum beer can (seemed to be a few layin around  )...
