    weird Enfield P53 replica

I saw an Enfield P53 replica that was stamped "made in Italy" but there was no maker's stamp. The other curious thing is the metal is all white. Has anyone else run across a replica like this and knows anything about them?

ACW Enfield cartridge box metal interior

Anyone know where I can order the metal interior of an ACW Enfield cartridge box? Internet search has failed me. I want to make a leather cartridge box, but lack the skills to form the tin interior. Perhaps someone here makes them?

    Rapine Trash Can availability?

Where can I buy Rapine Trash Can bullets? @Dave591has had success with them, so I'm hoping they will improve the performance of my Enfield P61. Right now 575 minie balls with 60 grains of fffg are hitting all over the place at 25 and 50 yards. I hope to work my out to 100 yards with the right...

Historical military style rifled muskets poll

This poll is designed to examine the market for historical military rifled muskets. It appears that some manufacturers are making guns with the primary purpose of shooting blanks. Is that the largest section of the market, at least here?

More dumb laws in WA state

WA state government is working again to destroy hunting AND the environment by eliminating predator hunting. I have never hunted predators, but we have coyotes, black bears and cougars on our island, a fifteen minute ferry ride from Seattle and Tacoma. Here's an article that spells it out...

How to refinish a Traditions Mountain rifle barrel?

Maybe it is a bad idea, but I'm thinking I might strip the finish on the metal work and barrel on my new Traditions Mountain rifle and refinish it. I'm not sure what kind of finish it has now, but it is like an anodizing of some sort. It marks up pretty easily, and appears to be superficial...

new Traditions Mountain flintlock rifle question

Went to get some supplies at the local muzzle loader shop, and because I want to see this shop stay in business I had to buy a new gun. That's the kind of giving person I am. 😇 It's a brand new Traditions flintlock Mountain rifle .50, and it's the first new ML I've ever bought. Every ML I...

    Euroarms Kentuckian .44 caliber questions

On a visit to my local ML shop today (love that place, so glad it's still here) I saw a Euroarms Kentuckian rifle in .44 caliber from the '70's in pristine condition, probably never been shot. What else could I do? I bought it. Muzzleloader Supply is an excellent shop, of course, and they had...

    traditional or modern?

This talk by Garrett on the 11bangbang YouTube channel really hit home for me. It's about a lot more than hunting, but I think this is the best forum to post the link.

    James Rogers new website

I think this is a new web site for James Rogers, whose work is an inspiration. He has been featured in Muzzleloader magazine. I'm in no way connected to him...just a fan. https://jamesrogerscreations.weebly.com/?fbclid=IwAR3RG2aIZ8NYwTU7g7eRuetvUX4QKZ5W1_3ZDnwteuiFGH64HWroOJO0UL0

    Cartridgekits new video

Cartridgekits.com just put out a new video that describes paper cartridge making very well (much better than their old video). (I am not affiliated with them in any way, but I did purchase their products.)

What ML movie should be made now?

"Across the Wide Missouri" with Clark Gable primed the pan. Then like just about everyone else my age "Jeremiah Johnson" and "A Man Called Horse" triggered the flint sparking. In those days it was difficult for a teenage kid to find a ML, much less one he could afford. My father got me a...

    Kibler's next gun?

I read somewhere on the Kibler's site that one of the guns they are considering to make in the future is a NW Trade gun. Does anyone close to the source know anything about this? In his blog, Jim wrote: "The Next Kit The next kit, while not officially in the works yet, should be started in...

Excellent video and podcast from "I Love Muzzleloading"

Ethan of "I Love Muzzleloading" fame just posted a very interesting lecture on YouTube about the current state of BP and living history, and what we could do to get more people interested in it. This young man consistently impresses with his breadth of knowledge, open mindedness and generosity...

Is it uncool to use Pyrodex?

Listening to a podcast yesterday an apparently famous competition shooter in the East somewhere was being interviewed, and at the mention of Pyrodex he and the interviewer both snorted as if using Pyrodex is akin to wearing white after Labor Day. I'm not a Pyrodex enthusiast, but when I got...

    Replica Arms, El Paso, TX

Does anyone know the story of Replica Arms, El Paso, TX? I just recently purchased a lovely cap and ball pistol from another forum member stamped with "Replica Arms, El Paso, TX" on one side and "made in Italy" on the other. It's a well made gun. The bluing is particularly nice. Did it come...

How to loosen trigger guard screw: Pietta Remington '58

I ran into a few problems when cleaning a newly acquired, used Pietta Remington '58 with a 5.5 inch barrel. First off, the arbor will not clear the ram latch. The screw that holds the trigger guard in place will not budge. I tried WD40 and a silicone lubricant. Nope. I tried tapping the...
