Pawnshop find , what is it ??

Picked up this Muzzleloader yesterday at a pawnshop. They had no idea what it was. My Research makes me think it is the Pedersoli Rocky Mountain Maple Hawken in 54 caliber. Three little symbols under the stock, one is the date code for 1986. The other one looks like PN , I cannot make out...

Musket cap nipple hole size ??

Bought a very nice Antonio Zoli .58 at a live auction over the weekend and noticed the nipple has a very large diameter hole compared to all the #11 cap nipples I’m used to seeing. Is this normal or has someone drilled it out to use as a reenactment rifle ? Thanks all . FBC

    Pawnshop mystery update

Well I got the rifle cleaned up and measured the bore at 408 thousands . Since I have a 41 magnum mold I poured some soft lead bullets . 60 grains of pyrodex seems to be plenty strong enough for deer hunting.

    Pawnshop mystery

Seen one today thinking I might need. NO markings on rifle that I can see anywhere. Borrowed a tape measure and bore measured 3/8 so unsure of caliber. Lock seemed to be good and strong. Homemade powder test

So I shot my .50 renegade and reloaded it with my homemade powder. I swabbed the bore out when I got home . 13 days later I fired the rifle . I could see no rust anywhere and got instant Ignition. I’ve shot a deer and coyote with my powder. I’m calling my homemade powder a success. FBC
