A New Patch Knife out of old straight razor

My wife has a hair salon. She still does men's haircuts with a straight razor when requested.

SOLD Bean style 45 Caliber rifle

I agree. The wire wrap is way cool. I've seen leather wrap on the levers of unmentionable rifles and they too look really nice. Sometimes they even have beadwork.

Beautiful rifle!!! I'm new to this stuff. What's the purpose of the wire wrapped trigger guard?

A New Patch Knife out of old straight razor

I remember when I was growing up watching my grandfather shave with a straight razor. He had a leather strop hanging on the back of the bathroom door and was a master at whisking that razor back and forth across the strop to sharpen it. And I mean he was "lightening fast." He also had a "safety...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I replaced all the factory screws in a used Pietta 1861 Navy .36 I bought a couple of weeks ago. Those factory screws must be kinda soft and/or the previous owner had ill fitting screw drivers. Almost all of the screw heads were buggered up. Also gave it a good cleaning and replaced the nipples...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I bought a Pietta 1861 Navy Sheriff Model in .36 caliber. It is in fantastic condition. It came with round balls, caps, capper, felt wads, a flask and a partial can of Goex FFFg. I think I got a good deal for $325.

    What do I have here?

They say you never know what true happiness is until you're married...then it's too late.

    Renegade arrives today/covid too

I think you're smart to ask him to place the gun outside the door after you arrive. I have also buried a co-worker, 3 close friends and 2 family members who all died of Covid in the past 12 months. The 3 friends all died in the past 2 months, the co-worker just last week. Our office is still...

Does your state have a Flintlock ONLY season?

No, Utah Wildlife Resources sucks in that regard. What Utah refers to, in regards to a muzzleloader season, is "Primitive Weapon". Yeah, right. Utah allows in-line, sealed breech muzzleloaders, those plastic cuppy things with a pistol bullet and scopes of any magnification the hunter wants...

    Colorado… bobcat, mountain lion, lynx

Oldwood said it best. The 3 "S's". Shoot, shovel and shut up. It's done here in Utah also, especially on feral dogs and cats.

HighUintas, welcome from American Fork! You'll find lots of friendly people here who are willing to share a wealth of knowledge. I've only been on the site a short time, but have learned so much. There are some real craftsmen here when it comes to building rifles and accoutrements. I often find...

No more trail cameras allowed in Utah

I live and hunt in Utah. Almost all of our big game hunting is on public land, either BLM or Forest Service property. Our archery and muzzleloader seasons are in the late summer/early fall so I often hunt water holes or springs and have been regularly successful over the years. During that time...

SOLD .72 cal Virginia Jaeger flintlock. Posting problems. See description bellow

Andy 52, after you shoot it, I can refer you to a great orthopedic specialist who excels in rebuilding shoulders. I know, he rebuilt both of mine, including reattachment of the biceps that had torn away.
