    Vent liner installation question

I'm installing a white lightning vent liner , and the hole for the vent liner intrudes a little into the breach plug area . Is it okay to file down the vent liner so it doesn't touch the breach plug or should I file a notch in the breach plug ? Thanks in advance for any help with this .

I,m thinking about maybe fire bluing the lockplate on my Jim Chambers Kentucky pistol , that I,m building . If I left the cock , frizzen , and pan in the white , would it look silly ? Also , would fire bluing hurt the frizzen or cock ? I will be using a propane torch to do it . I,m not sure I...

CVA "squirrell rifle" - range report

I finally put fixed sights on my .32 CVA rifle . I never liked the adjustable rear sight that came with it , IMO it's a real piece of junk . I could never get the kind of accuarcy out of it , to hunt squirrels . So I ordered a semi buckhorn rear sight , and a silver blade front sight (partridge)...

Hi folks , I recently bought a powder flask that has a Sykes patent flameproof valve with the adjustable powder measure . I never load directly from my flask , but I was wondering if it is safe to load from the flask with the Sykes patent valve .

    Shot a shortstarted ball

I shot a shortstarted ball today :cursing: . I am now wondering if my barrel is still safe . The barrel is a Green Mountain drop in barrel for a TC Renegade . It is one inch across the flats , 32 inches long , with a 1 in 70 twist , .54 cal. It was loaded with 60 grns. of 3f Goex black powder ...

    Looking for opinions

Okay , I know , I'm asking for it now :haha: but go ahead and give me your two cents , the more the merrier ! I am building a Chambers Kentucky pistol kit and I can't decide on wether to brown the barrel or leave it white . The stock is cherry wood and WILL NOT be stained and I plan to leave...
