    grizz back-up gun

Maybe this is a bit late but Dixie slugs are bad mojo for anything that moves short of elephants. It was designed to act as the old 12 bore paradox load. That being a 730 gr hard cast slug a 1200 fps, they also make one that goes 1400 fps. At the Linebaugh seminars they powdered green cow bone...

    Bleach?

I just refinished an old K-31 Swiss service rifle and I used oxalic acid to bleach the wood. Now in your case where you may not want to remove all the stain this may not be a great idea. But if you at your wits end and can't get any thing else to work this does work. That being said I tried...

    Dad shot muzzleloader

I took my dad out to shoot a muzzleloader for the first time Sunday. The gun was my smoothbore 56 cal. Renegade, the load was 80gr. 2f with a .550 ball. He was suprised that it did'nt kick much and was'nt too loud. But was really suprised that something with no rifling shot a 2.5 inch group at...

    Dear Thompson Center,

I agree, that is a sorry excuse. That lends to the question though where is Foxridge Outfitters getting stocks for their Foxridge Carbine?

    Thompson center service dept.

T/C's service Dept. is top notch, if only all service centers were as good as these guys.

    Dear Thompson Center,

I know it is just wishful thinking to think it will matter but, I am seriously thinking about writing T/C and asking them to bring back at least the PA Hunter for the traditional crowd. It was a flintlock rifle with a 1-66 twist barrel. The barrel was also half octagon, half round. You know...

    Dear Thompson Center,

Dear Thompson Center, Please bring back the PA Hunter and or New Englander. Us working blokes need a well made affordable muzzleloader that is made in the United States. The current :barf: you are selling are both ugly and have no class (except the Hawken). I am sure if you re-introduced one...

We have sulphur shelf mushrooms, around here we call them elephant ears. Thanks for the link for ID-ing the mushrooms. Next time I go out in the woods i'll keep my eyes open.

    Wild mushrooms

I am not sure if we have hen of the woods here in Kansas. I have seen what I thought were puff balls I have also seen what what I thought were elephant ears but had no way to ID said mushrooms so I let them be, better safe than sorry.

    Wild mushrooms

I agree with greybeard about only eating morel mushrooms. Many of the wild mushrooms are very deadly, and can result in liver failure. That being said my grandpa used to eat elephant ears and giant puffballs and never got poisoned from them. I like my morels thinly sliced and beer batter fried...
