Current value NIB Pietta Remington .31 pocket

I've got a pair, but was thinking of selling one off to get something else. What are people's opinions of the current value?

    BP supplies at Wal Mart

I was shopping at a Wally World out of my area and noticed they had a new looking display of BP stuff. No balls, only inline projectiles. Not much powder, mostly pellets. I did see these:

Best way to check the condition of a non Damascus barrel

What's the best way to check the integrity of the barrel(s) of a used shotgun? I would think the only way would be with a bore scope or maybe remove the nipple and see if a tiny light could fit through the hole and illuminate the bore(s). If the gun is rusty, how much pitting is OK?

1862 Pocket Police Replica barrel removal

I've got a used 1862 pocket police .36 and the barrel seems way too tight to me. The barrel has to be tapped off with something like a piece of wood or a plastic screwdriver handle. After removal, I can install the barrel without the wedge and it can be removed without tapping. With the wedge...

    Newbie questions about rust/corrosion

I've collected a few MLBP replicas and want to try them out. I'm planning to buy quality aftermarket nipples before shooting anything. What are people's opinions about non corrosive BP substitutes? I'm not planning on doing historical reenactments at this point, so big clouds of smoke and...

OK to ask for opinions on current values?

Is it OK to ask for opinions of current value ranges of MLBP ( not inline stuff ) guns? If so, what section of the forum should that be done at?

Opinions of the best reproduction percussion revolver carbine

What's everyone's opinion on the best percussion .44 revolver carbine available? I don't know much about them, other than the fact I want one. For me, I think ergonomics and a removable cylinder are the most important features. I do know that they are tricky to hold safely, unless you are...

Is there a current shortage of black powder arms?

Due to all the craziness going on right now, is there a shortage of BP weapons and stuff, as there is with modern firearms and ammunition? I know the modern firearm and ammunition market is nuts, with almost everything gone and crazy prices.

Opinions and pricing 1873 SAA percussion

I recently bought a Pietta brass frame Remington 1858 and discovered that it doesn't fit my hand. I have to keep my middle finger low or have it mashed up against the back of trigger guard. I just found out that there's a percussion replica of the Colt SAA in .44 cal. That looks like it would...

Cheapest sources for balls, caps, powder, etc

Where do the budget minded members usually buy their BP supplies? I'm not opposed to buying in bulk to save money. I've heard that Walmart usually has good prices, but the ones near me only carry BP during hunting season and clearance it out right after. I don't step foot in small LGS due to...

    Remington 1858 questions.

I just got my first BP gun, a used brass framed Pietta 1858, 8 inch barrel. It seems to be in good condition, but the action of the trigger and hammer will occasionally feel funky, while cycling it, especially rapidly. By cycling it I mean pulling the hammer back to full cock and pulling the...

    Newbie from SW Florida

I'm not new to firearms, but don't know much about black powder arms. I'm probably going to be getting a replica Remington New Model Army or Navy soon and need to learn how to safely use it and the laws involved. At this point I want to use conical bullets exclusively.
