    Little Blunderbuss

Had this Blunderbuss for a while now and have always wondered why the trigger guard was a different colour to the rest of the brass on the gun?

    Ottoman pistol markings

Anyone shed any light on these markings on an Ottoman Kurbur type pistol. I'm thinking maker marks.

    Antique Fair Pistol

Interesting find at the weekend at a local Antiques fair; relic early 19thC New Land Pattern style flintlock pistol. A sympathetic restoration should suffice!

    Danish 1772 pattern pistol.

Picked up this large Danish 1772(?) model pistol. It's a fair size, weighing in at 3lb 6oz. Overall length is 20 1/2" with a 13" barrell. Bore is around 5/8ths. Regimental markings on the barrell look to read J C N 28.

    Very Long Ottoman Pistol

Todays find, late 18thC. European pistol, made for the Ottoman/Turkish market, Lock by Wilson of England, with an early type of waterproof pan. Approx 5/8" bore, 15 3/4" barrel!!

    What's this Remington???

Another recent acquisition, quite unsure on this one; looks to be .44, with a 7 1/2" barrel, single action. No numbers, other than the ones shown. Right side screw heads?? Aged repro?? Missing the loader bit.

    Ultimate Blunderbuss!

I couldn't pass on this Blunderbuss, not a true weapon, but more of a noise maker, for 'joie de vivre'. Badly welded at the end of the muzzle, a crude, but fully functioning lock and interesting wood carving. But of fun really and cheap! Looks great on my wall.

    Officers(?) Pistol, by Fletcher

Bought this long Officers type pistol a couple of weeks back. Percussion conversion at sometime. Barrel is 12" long, with a .65 bore. I reckon a date of c.1780, what do you gentleman think?

    French 'Navy' Blunderbuss

I recently bought a small collection of Blunderbusses and the odd one out was a very heavy steel barreled weapon, which had me wondering exactly what it was, After some online research, I found out what the gun was derived from, but still have no other details of its manufacture. It would...

    Ottoman Pistol

I found this at a recent 'Car Boot Sale' here in the UK. Vendor was selling it as a replica; woodwork said otherwise!

    Danish 1741 Pistol

Picked this nice piece up at a recent Militaria Fair, wasn't sure what it was when I bought it, but it looked right. Markings are Regimental.

    Ottoman Blunderbuss

Picked up this little Ottoman Blunderbuss the other day. Unlike other guns of this type that I have handled and seen, this one would seem to have proof stamps on the barrel, (either side of the X)

    Recent English Percussion Acquisitions 3

This wonderful 28" Double 12, c1850 must have been a very expensive gun in its day. Made by G&J Deane, it still has its exquisite engraving, with platinum touch holes and lovely balance.

Recent English Percussion Acquisitions 2 A rusty Egg!

This old relic was once a beautiful Flintlock fowling piece by Durs Egg c.1785. It deserved a better life, but it has managed to survive. Just visible on the 34" barrel is D EGG LONDON, thanks to the original script being inlaid with gold. The foresight is a reminder of what the gun once was.

    Recent English Percussion Acquisitions 1

Three muzzleloaders have recently come into my possession. First is a Reilly, or not, as the case may be; Marked 'Reilly London' on the barrel and 'Reilly' on the lock plate. Problem being is the poor quality of the engraving, definitely not up to Reilly standards and the Birmingham proof marks...

    W.S Chilcote Ohio Rifle

I've just acquired this W.S Chilcote Rifle, at auction, here in the UK. First time I've ever seen a genuine 'Kentucky' Rifle and I absolutely love it!

    English Blunderbuss

I was due to collect a Japanese matchlock from a vendor at a local Militaria market at the weekend, unfortunately, there had been a cock-up on their website and the gun had in-fact already been sold. So I sulked off round the market and a chap was just putting his stall out, selling his old...

    British Coastguard/Customs Pistol

I was lucky enough to find this percussion pistol at a recent UK Car boot sale (swap meet?). I believe it to be a British Coastguard type pistol, but there are a few similar weapons, so not 100% sure. It has just under a 3/4" smooth bore. There are very faint markings on the lockplate, below...

    Torador Wall Guns

I recently purchased the two large Indian Torador 'Wall Guns'. My question is, does anyone have an idea what wood has been used for the stocks? It has quite a fine grain and is very light in colour. [/URL]

    English 73" Wildfowler

I have recently purchased this particularly long Wildfowling piece and would dearly like to hear your learned opinions of it! It has a 57" 10 bore Barrel with an overall length of 73". It looks to be late 18th century in design, but percussion. The foresight is silver and the engraving is...
