What kind of lead for molding conicals?

Pure lead, I get my lead from one of the local scrap yards..they have it separated. I buy roof flashing for about .50 cents a pound. Its dead soft, I just smelt it down and pour my own ingots. Last trip I ended up with about 30 pounds of pure lead ingots for about $15..

    Different caps affecting accuracy?

Ive been playing with a CVA bobcat this weekend. Only gun I have that's not dialed in..Im running low on RWS caps and they are not easy to find around here..Yesterday I bought a tin of standard CCI caps..I noticed my groups started opening up...Same gun, same load clean bore between shots...I...

    Pipe tomahawk

If its a high figured curly handle the hole is the least to worry about. Many curly handles are very weak because the curl cuts across the grain. Though in fairness Ive seen guys use curly handled hawks and bag axes for years with no problems. A straight grain handle like hickory or ash isn't...

    Tomahawk Handle?

Its a tapered fit so no need to wedge..I leave about 1/2"-3/4" over on mine..they will not come off..The best source for handles Ive found is dunlap woodcrafts.
