    photo dawg tography

Thanks! I have a lot more CW pics I'm working on. Yes, Photoshop can do a mirrored image very easily. The Photoshop commands (drop down menus) would be: click on "Image" in the tool bar, then "rotate canvas", then "flip canvas horizontal". I just tested it with an image that has wording in it...

Have somebody take your pic with a good quality digital camera (I know, not quite PC) and then find someone experienced in Photoshop to make it look like the old tintype photos.

    Powderhorn color process?

Thanks Guys! I also have some Fiebings alcohol based leather dyes I use on my arrow shafts. Ever try using those types of dyes on horn?

    Powderhorn color process?

I just looked at some custom powderhorns at a local gun shop that were a beautiful dark yellowish-brown color, obviously dyed that way. Anybody know the best substance to dye polished cow horn to produce the rich color of those custom horns? Thanks! Jerry

    Flintlock cleaning?

Thanks, Superflint! How I shoot a ML remains to be seen... Thanks for the replies. I should have been more specific as to the gun I bought. It is a Pedersoli Frontier Rifle, full stock. I don't have it in front of me now, so can't comment on how it might come apart. Anybody familiar...

    Flintlock cleaning?

Okay, now that I have a flinter in my sweaty little palms ("Brown" dropped it off yesterday. Woohoo!), could someone please explain the correct way to clean a flinter? Seemed to be several opinons on the vent liner thread. Is it really necessary to remove the barrel? Thanks! Jerry

    Vent Liner

Crazy Frenchman, I'm new to all this (just received my first BP gun today), so could you please explain the correct way to clean a flinter? Thanks! Jerry

    Flintlock Primer?

Being newly interested in muzzleloading and flintlocks- and not owning a gun yet-most of what I read here is fairly greek to me. I'm picking up some of it and actually understanding a little in the few days I've been coming here. Is there some sort of primer available ("Muzzleloading...

    Practical accuracy for a Muzzleloader

Are production rifles considered "good flintlock rifles"? I'm looking at either the Blue Ridge Flintlock from Cabela's or the Pedersoli Frontier flintlock (both under $500) for my first hunting/reenacting gun. Jerry

"Oldageitis" I like that! The term, not the fact that I have it. :) Thanks to all of you for the welcome. I don't even own a muzzleloader yet, so the progress will be slow, but I'll be checking in to see what's happening and learn. Thanks again, Jerry

    Full Moon...a rising!

No doubt at all -- it's a composite of three different photos. The foreground was taken with a wide angle, the deer with a telephoto, and the moon with a mondo-telephoto. However, it is beautifully done!

    Newbie from Oregon

Hello! I'm primarily a bowhunter who uses recurves and home made longbows, but my bow arm elbow is starting to hint that it doesn't want to do that much longer. So, if I have to give up the bow I want to stay with primitive equipment to hunt with. Muzzleloaders are the obvious choice. I guess...
