    .50 cal. shooters .490 rb or .495 rb which do you shoot ? and why

    I have been shooting my 50 cal GPR a lot this summer.I have shot the 490,495 with everything from .010 to .018 patches.So far the 495 with the .018 patch gives me the best accuracy. I will be buying some .020 patches and trying them also.

    I was watching a show this past weekend about Patrick Henry, and they were showing pics of Williamsburg were he did much of his peaking. I would love to go back again.

    Purcussion Cap Recommendations

    Captain Kirk got me into BP last year.He told me he had problems with the CCI caps.He has been using the Remington's and so have I.Haven't seen him having any problems nor have I.I haven't been shooting long enough, only time will tell.

    I was there in 2004.It's amazing to see people still living that way.The people that are apprentices living there don't get paid.They have to work around the town to get food and a place to stay. The carpenter that I talked to said he had to put in five years of apprenticeship before he got paid.

    Peep sights

    I have the GPR with the Lyman 57 and the 17A sights.I didn't want to use peep sights; but shooting right handed,left eye dominant,shooting past 50Yrds made it hard to see.I like to set my sight on the center of the target. If I shot pumpkin on the post its not bad; but I don't like to shot that way.
