    Green Mtn IBS breech plugs

Duh, I should have looked at GM's site. The way I read it the IBS barrels regardless of caliber or size have 11/16-20 threads.

    Green Mtn IBS breech plugs

Are the breech plugs used by GM on the 15/16" IBS barrels 5/8-18 threads?

    Bags with tapestry

I have noticed more bags being made using tapestry in various ways. I don’t recall seeing this done in the past. I like what I see as some are quite attractive. Is this a contemporary thing or is there documentation of the use of tapestry material for bags? I would think such material would not...

    Need builder info

I have a reproduction .62 smoothbore trade rifle with a date on the bottom of the barrel 11-12-76 with the initials G.E.M. I was told it was copied from an original in the Tippecanoe museum by a builder in Indiana. I'm trying to find out who GEM might be. Thanks

    shot bag

Nice job Spence. If rawhide is not at hand a chunk of hardwood dowel drilled out is a decent subsitute. Save those broom handles.

    Minimum load for .54 GPR

I recently finished a GPR kit and it ate up about any thickness of patch I used. Had around 30 rounds with charges 50 to 70 grain of 2F. I wasn't to happy with the accuracy so I mildly got after it with "000" steel wool and it has gone to shooting 9s and 10s since then. Well, when I do my part.

    Finished my first shooting pouch.

I think it is very well done for your first bag. The step by step and your comments would be very helpful to anyone wanting to construct a bag. Thanks for sharing.

    Shooting bag lining

What is the practical purpose and or advantage for lining a leather bag with ticking or such? Was this the norm in the 18th century?

    Pure lead necessary?

Upon cooling pure lead shrinks more than alloy. The differences, depending on alloy, will not likely be more than .002" if that much.
