    BP handgun for hunting

I think part of the reason so many people have so many different opinions on the matter is because 1. they haven't actually done it themselves to see the results be it good or bad and 2. some people live in areas where the deer are the size of dogs and others live where deer are the size of a...

Thanx smokin 50... love to hear from hands on users... this pretty much makes me want to go with the walker... given your experience with them which route did you go to help the loading lever drop problem? and is there an accuracy difference in thw alker or dragoon with the same 50 gr charges...

    The Uberti Walkers durability

well from a shooters stand point if your gonna run 45/50 charges anyhow then the dragoon would be the "better" choice? as far as shootability and price point?

    The Uberti Walkers durability

I was thinking about buying one of the horse pistols (Uberti walker or dragoon) and have done a fair amount of reading about there quirks and what have you... But my question is does the walker handle a steady diet of 60gr loads well? seems to be some that say yes..others that say no... In...

    well, getting back into it....

thanx again for all the good info... I have made a "virtual" handshake with another member on the forum for a cabelas hawken. 54 cal, 1/48 twist, 32 inch barrel, double triggers and obviously flint... condition is virtually new with no evidence of being shot (from pics, so it at least was well...

Many thanx for the input so far... Im waiting for some pics of the 54 flint cabela hawken as its from a member of this forum who is offering it...If it looks good I think I may go with this rifle and learn to make it work well if it has issues from the start.. I need to buy the recomended...

    well, getting back into it....

I have a strong tendency to not believe in the word cant, and even though it seems hard to believe I had issues with 3 different rifles that was not shooter related problems is not completely indicative of the core issue seeing how you weren't there to examine personally. I have purchased 3...

thanx for the feed back... a couple quick searches is showing im not allowing enough funds for a great rifle.... but i want to stick to that price range anyhow to keep the wife happy.... well, getting back into it....

yes yes and yes... I reload my ammo for other rifles and regularly get sub moa groups with most of them... Im in no way shape or form "new" to shooting so its not my abilities that lack (but am constantly trying to improve regardless  ) thats why i was so frustrated... worked with...

    well, getting back into it....

Well its been awhile, I used to be on the forum alot but ended up leaving because I sold my muzzys...I had 3, a cva deerhunter, a cabelas pedersoil frontier rifle and a lyman. I had accuracy issues with all of them and in a last ditch effort mounted a scope on the deerhunter and to my dismay...

ight valve grinding compound is the first on my to do list then... SO the wads should only be used with flat based conicals? I may even give the patch and balls another try after lapping the barrels..If worse came to worst do any companies make drop in replacement barrels for the lyman?

    GRRRRR venting..sighting in woes again

Ok, better punctuation. That will be harder then getting my rifles on target... I used 3 patches, the first 1 was the bore butter pre lubed .010 and the second was bore butter .015 The third was .018 pillow ticking Maybe i was using incorrect terminology but the "wad is like a pre lubed 54 cal...

New question on .45 vs .50

well i would think it would depend on a couple of things...do you hunt? is yes then what? and what barrel is the most accurate? if you mainly hunt deer and smaller i would personally (given both barrels group equally well) keep the 45 for the deer and smaller game and bore the 50...if you hunt...
