    stroked the barrel quite a few times with 0000 wool wrapped around a jag. Then I tried a real tight cleaning patch. When I put the patch in the first 6-8 inches of the barrel and pull it back out.No cuts.I think the burr is in the middle 1/3rd of the barrel. I stoked the barrel about 50 or so...

    I have 62 cal rifle that is either burning or cutting patches. I am shooting 110 grains of 2f with .018 patching .600 round ball and a 1/8 card wad.     Hunting Swap

    I am thinking of putting together a overnight walk in scout/turkey hunt this spring on private land. Any takers? Be willing to trade room and board for a week long or so hunt in exchange for any hunt out west. In the fall I got waterfowl in flooded timber, deer turkeys and small game.

    First Flintlock suggestion

    Chambers Mark Silver or Edward Marshall?

    The Edward Marshall gun is a bit "handier" I believe in the woods hunting.It has a bit shorter barrel. The Mark Silver gun I handled was a 60 caliber and balanced real nice.
