Shop broom handle that i bought at Fleet Farm. Stright and made of oak, couldn`t make one as nice for 3.50 bucks.

Lenn, you probably have guessed by now that I am somewhat of a pack rat; I save all the old snow shovel/push broom/hoe/rake, etc handles for just such projects.
