Did some outside chores and put out some extra deer feed. Then got back to work scraping the Buffalo horn. Went over it with several grits of sandpaper too. Wiped it down with my new favorite mix of T&T and gum turpentine. The mix has really done well on wood, seems to have done ok on the horn too. Unfortunately I won’t have time to do much more on it now. I’ve got to head home in the morning and I have some other things to take care of. After I finish these dam doctor’s appointments I’ll jump back on it. Here’s some beginning and ending photos.

Gotta behave your self and listen to the Boss and the doctor or you don’t get to play .😁

Spent today sanding and polishing lock plate, frizzen, and cock. Tomorrow I'm going to finish with Grey Scotch Brite I'm hoping to put the final touches on all the remaining parts. They are all polished, just one more pass with the scotch Brite into the hydrosonic cleaning tank with the simple green. Rinse dry, wipe down, and into the Jax Black. The finish line is in sight!

20-ton hydraulic press and an aluminum die set I turned on the lathe.
do you press wet or dry? sometimes i suspect moistened and pressed leaches some kno2 out. my setup is primitive. sched 80 pvc and teflon cutting board disks in my bench vise.
What is a walmart?

well today was our 54th wedding anniversary and i took the boss out for Mexican food, followed by a trip to the chiropractor.
got home about 3pm and bent the tang on the replacement breech plug for my cherry half stock build. finished filing the lugs to the flats and then cast about 100 325g REAL bullets for my .50 double.
tomorrow will shoot them and see if they shoot as good as the 250g's

made that quip today to the dump manager while the bride was sitting next to me.
never have been mistaken for smart.

this place isn't a store It's a madhouse ! ! !
I well remember 40-45 years ago my Wife and I would take the boys to WM just to walk around, look at things, and buy what we needed. Didn’t realize at the time that all the other discount stores like Gibson’s and Howard’s (Southern chains) were being smothered to death. It’s been about 5 years since I last set foot in a WM. I might go if they were giving #11 caps away for free, if not, never again.
