...nonetheless, if someone finds a really nice item and gets it for a knockdown price, I am happy to share their experience, and hear their stories, especially if they are relative newcomers and a lucky find makes them more enthusiastic about this passtime. I got a really nice Jukar Hawken rifle in .45 about 4 months ago, for rather less than I should have paid for it. As a relative beginner, I was over the moon about this; more so when I took her out on the range and saw the performance.

An original JP Beck would sell at the local tacticool pawn/gun shop for 400 bucks.
It might hang there for a year. Nobody in there would know what it is.

The same gun at a KRA show or high end auction would sell for 10s of thousands maybe a lot more.

You can say the same about contemporary pieces.
Know your market. Know where the market is.
You not going to get top money at the Flea Mall!

A really good gun will sell. The buyer who knows what it is and is willing to fork out the cash, will.

Sorry Ganggreen, it just sunk in the what the $760.00 was about. The first several lines were not shown. The actual cost was nearly $1200.00 and was not a kit. It was a stock blank. I think a Hawken Shop kit's run around $1700.

Problem is Mike, a lot of the older generation that wants to sell BP equip. know nothing about the Net let alone a computer. Sporting goods stores just look at you funny if you bring a flintlock or percussion gun in to consign, they're not interested. Also, the further south you go the more interest in BP stuff, generally speaking. This is my personal experience in my part of Mi.
 
I’m no expert on anything, but if a Pedersoli Rocky Mountain Hawken is going for around $2K (and selling as fast as they can make them) then I would think this gorgeous rifle, very well built from quality parts, should bring at the very least that amount.
If I were in the market for one, and had the bucks, I think I would be happy to pay $2500, or even Evil Mike’s $3K for it.

Very Very Nice. Looks like a quality build.
I also don’t see the Lock or Triggers listed in the parts cost. And who made them.
That’s got to drive up the price.
 
Just to kick into the mix, that is a very nice piece of hard work that you have produced. It's value is totally dependent on you. Like so many have mentioned, I try to buy as cheap as possible, just to keep wifey happy. But I would be proud to own a weapon like yours.
