Help, need trigger guard.

Silver soldering is finished. I still need to polish out the file marks but it seems to be plenty strong.
Once it's polished out I think I'll age the piece so it matches the rest of the pistol.

My first intention was to braze it but the material was too thin to braze so I went with high tensile strength silver solder.

I'm sure it will hold unless you start thumping some critter with it..

great craftsmanship after aging should be unnoticeable. Bruce

Thank you, my goal may not be that generous. It's more about helping a person that is devoted to this hobby. I have accumulated many skills in my life and it's more about sharing those skills which may be a bit on the selfish side.

24 hours in the aging process so it's not as shiny now. You can just barely see the solder line at the break. It will be on its way back to Mr. Wizzard tomorrow.

Reading you fellows' posts sure brightened my afternoon. Well done Andy52.

Regarding the repair, it sure looks to me like it would add to the "story" of the pistol in a positive way. Even though it is a reproduction it now looks as if it has been "up the creek and over the mountain, and look how my friend fixed after the big freeze of (insert date here).

Unless you needed absolute original, I'd head to a antique store or goodwill or similar and find an old very long ice tea stirring spoon or cocktail spoon or similar, maybe with some nice decoration, etc. Hopefully in silver. Then bend away, then drill and mount your new trigger guard.
