Barrel length will be 38 inches swamped, the barrel width at the waist will be .650" but the builders smallest router is .700"
Will this difference leave an unsightly gap between the barrel and wood?

Back when I had my .32 built I called Jason at Rice bbls and he recommended a swamped "transition" barrel IIRC. That was exactly the barrel that's on it now.
