I'm interested in changing out the standard single trigger on my Pedersoli Kentucky flintlock for a single set one from Davis triggers.

Does anyone have any suggestions regarding what one I should go with? I'm not sure what would fit the best. I asked Davis but they weren't sure.

Thanks.

Have you thought about using a Pedersoli set trigger? Their part might be a better bet, simply because their set trigger is paired with that lock on other models, I bet. Pedersoli uses similar locks, barrels and triggers, changing the barrel length and the stock configurations to change models in many cases.

No, I haven't actually but it might be the way to go. Just have to find one to match the tiny lock on the Kentucky rifle.

Is it a set trigger only, or a double action? Shoot with a normal pull OR a set? Do they sell just parts, or do you have to buy a whole gun to get a single part? It would seem they would sell parts of parts though, like springs, sears, tumblers etc. Stuff breaks from time to time.

Have you tried talking to Graeme Forbes about this. He is the importer.

Hi Bill,

Pedersoli do not make anything suitable for what you are after, they do sell single set triggers for some of the pistol models and the Highwall rifle also has one but I doubt you could adapt any of these.

Some shooters have modified their Kentucky rifles to accept the double set trigger as fitted to the “Alamo” rifle which is a very similar rifle, the main difference is the double set trigger and a bit more bling.

I am told that it entails a lot of fitting work and is not for the faint hearted.
