The photo below is the second Tennessee mountain deer he shot with his .54 Thompson Center Hawkens that he made from a kit.

 
These deer pictured here are good deer for Tn Mnt deer,you have those big Northern deer where you are, sure would like to hunt them.

The deer in your neck of the woods are small compared to the ones we get around here. One that size would be perfect for me and the better half.
And for all the 'blowing' Texans do, it's about typical for most whitetail here till you get out in the Trans-Pecos.

Still bigger than our Texas hill country deer. There are few that hit 100 pounds. My Ex and killed several with 40 flint lock rifles. I have 54's and a 58 now I guess I did not think they were dead enough! :wink:
