Does anyone know about Travellers Antiques and Trading? They want a photo ID sent along with order in an email. I may be over-cautious but how do they protect my info. I know it is required in some places to keep track of who is buying BP. Just curious and a bit worrying. Thanks.
I am in MA and am lucky to find any outfit that will ship to MA. And some of them want a copy of our FID or LTC. The state has our info. Picture, prints everything. I have to make a choice. Participate in the system or don't. And if you are worried about the security of your info, they try. But if you really want to protect your info don't buy anything on the net and especially don't use your credit or debit cards. And I agree with the a bit worrying, definitely.

Mine was supposed to be here today but after all it’s FedEx. Never got a package delivered when they say yet. I think tomorrow.

I passed by the shop the last 4 or 5 days in a row but unfortunately was never able to catch Toby there (my own fault for not calling ahead first)

I have never had issues whenever I ordered anything from Travelers, although FedEx always leaves much to be desired

Yup, Fedex is always late, mine was due yesterday and just checked for today, not even in the area. How can acompany so large screw up EVERY delivery that comes to me.

Howdy, My order was due 2 days ago. It sat in The DFW area for 5 days. I did get a notification from FedEx about 5 pm on the alleged delivery date, saying it was delayed....... No Sh!&. This morning they say it's in NM, and "No scheduled delivery date available at this time." :(

Yup. I got an email from FedEx : adult signature required, on truck for delivery today. That was yesterday morning. So after waiting at home all day and no FedEx, I tracked the package. The closest it's been to me is 450 miles, and apparently it's still sitting there. With FedEx I get one knock on the door and a few seconds pause before they head back to the truck and leave.
UPS is much more forgiving. If he hears a chainsaw or tractor he'll walk out back to find me.

Seems like Travlers would benefit from a different carrier due to this issue.

Im sure they would if logistics was a easier thing.

Well I have to give credit where credit is due. I also saw my package was in NJ and it was changed to no delivery date available, with the big red triangle. My neighbor was all ready to accept yesterday due to me working and I was home today (day off) and hoped it would come today. Still says it in Jersey. Door bell rings and a car out front. Open door and fedex dude delivering my box. What?. Anyway, my powder is here. Now, didn’t even have to sign, he just punched my last name in to his handheld thingie.

I'm going to preface this by saying this is not the fault of the supplier. I had two shipments that were supposed to arrive on the same day. One from Travelers and a GOEX shipment from Powder Valley. The Travelers arrives get signed for in the front office and the driver leaves his manifest check sheet with both shipments listed with our receiver. I get an email from FedEx saying delivery is complete I go upfront and only one package. 5 minutes later another email saying the 2nd shipment was delivered... NOT! I located the shipment at a neighboring facility. The manger told me they never signed for anything the driver dropped if off with the other boxes and left. (yes it required a direct signature) FedEx is claiming they delivered properly...

travelers is a great business to work with! They come to our rendezvous's each year. Toby and Anna are great folks.

I'm gonna regret this, I'm sure. But I just can't help myself. Do people really believe FedEx has a vendetta against shooters specifically, that they would raise prices for the specific reason of making it harder for us to shoot?

I know there's no shortage of folks who would love to see our sport disappear, and perhaps a couple of them are high enough in FedEx's corporate price-setting structure to have some influence. But I guess I have a hard time believing that we - and the blackpowder shooting community in particular - rate high enough in visibility for that to be a thought that crosses their minds (i.e., FedEx exec says maniacally, "We'll put an end to that! Triple the hazmat fees!!!").

Is it not more likely it's a combination of lawyers and salesmen trying to balance out how to make the most money and reduce liability without writing off a customer base entirely?

Ok. Let the roasting begin....

Don't let logic, and clear thinking, get in the way of a good conspiracy theory.😁

I want to add my two cents. First, it is not Traveler’s fault. Second, I totally agree that FedEx is the worst with multi-day delays and roundabout delivery routes. Took them a month to get a package to me from England! Third, UPS is always my go to shipping service for the same reasons listed above. But just this very minute, UPS left a parcel marked in huge orange and black letters “EXPLOSIVES” sitting at the edge of my front porch where God and the rest of the world can see it from the street and didn’t knock ring the doorbell, honk their horn or nuthin’. Didn’t have me sign for it. Way to go UPS.

OK, here goes: Travellers sent 6 lbs of BP to me on Monday. FEDEX notified me it would be here in FL on thursday between 12 and 4. They were here Thursday at 1:15 but I wasn't. They left a note saying they would deliver on Friday. Today, they came at 2:45, I signed, I got my powder.
Am I an aberration???? There are hundreds of thousands of FEDEX deliveries, whose to say what is normal or not in these times.....I haven't had issues with FEDEX. Maybe I live in a populated area with paved streets and house numbers prominent displayed.....( I apologize...my city bred brain is showing)

I live in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex on a city street with prominent house numbers on the house and the curb. I have had literally dozens of packages delivered from the USPS, UPS and FedEx. Disregarding the USPS because it is what it is, FedEx is by far the worst.
