Friends, our 2nd Amendment rights are always under attack and the NRA has been a constant for decades in helping fight that fight.
We have partnered with the NRA to offer you a discount on membership and Muzzleloading Forum gets a small percentage too of each membership, so you are supporting both the NRA and us.

Odd rear sight
Only marking I could find are pictured
The 92 on the barrels matches the serial number on the buttplate
More images required, please, straight on and right way up, if you would be so kind. Also top view of the 'sight'. Note that most shotguns do not have a rear sight. It might not be either German or Austrian. It might be French or Hungarian, Bohemian or even Scandinavian.
Can you remove the barrels? It might have a hooked breech...and there might just be stamps underneath the breech end that we have not yet seen. The rear sight in the shape of a snake is of interest....now where have I seen that before?....[thinks.........]
And forgive me for pointing out the obvious, but the standard of craftsmanship is spotty. The tang is decidely lop-sided . I'm beginning to think towards the eastern edge of Europe....
Not sure about those markings. Germany didn't require proof marks I believe before 1890 so if the gun is German I don't believe those markings are proof marks.
The breech plugs are stamped with '92' that matches the serial number, but no other markings.
The picture I posted originally shows all that there is to see.
