I admire that ingenious idea. I'm gonna steal it but with a variation. I'm gonna put the vest on the deer, walk it to the car and shoot it.
his first year deer hunting i told my son ' if you see a deer wound it, march it to the truck ,then finish it off so i dont have to drag it' i got a very puzzled look. 🤪

My grandson would like to wear some traditional clothing while hunting with his flintlock. We hunt in PA and I am not comfortable letting him do to safety issues. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on what to wear while still being safe. I was thinking maybe a red frock or possibly a wool rich patterned coat. I could insist on adding an orange vest or hat but was hoping someone here has figured it out already.
Northwest Traders can make him/you an Orange Capote or maybe a Canoe Jacket.
You would have the traditional attire but with modern safety colors.

Someone here had one made by Northwest and it actually looks pretty good. I had him make a buckskin rifle case and it looks like he used the orange scraps for the inner lining, it's a decent color.

Back in the mid Sixties I worked at a shop with a guy who had been an Infantry machine gunner in Vietnam; he died hunting in PA while crossing a fence, due to an accidental discharge! Crossing fences and such requires more than usual safety alertness, obviously.
