The hammer nose (part that smacks the cap) on my original 12 bore single barrel has eroded to the point where cap chunks are escaping. Lock is marked "Spies", barrel "Utica NY". Really would like to have a nice restoration of the hammer/lock without destroying the patina. Anyone suggest a smith that you know of?

I'm turkey hunting with the gun today. Want to keep using both eyes. Thanks!
