I fell in love with the flintlock TC Renegades by the time I got out of high school. Consider them to be the modern analog to a 1700's Germanic hunting rifle and the Baker rifle. For revamping the rusty TC Renegades, what's the largest rifled bore to use with a rebored TC barrel?
I have a couple of drop-in Green Mountain smooth barrels with their .61 diameter bore, one of which had rifling cut after purchase. But for reboring a TC barrel, what's the largest practical rifled bore? I have one flinter Renegade redone to .58 and it looks as though that was really pushing it due to the depth of the threaded holes that TC used for their attachments.
Any of you fellas seen one bigger?

Bigger? I doubt it, as Bobby Hoyt would know and for rifles, he'll only re-rifle the 1" across-the-flats barrels to be a 58-cal rifle and for smoothbores I believe he'll drill/hone one out to be a 62-cal.

He did cut the rifling in one of my .61 smooth bore green Mountain barrels but that's not a matter of him boring it out that big, which no doubt makes a really big difference. Speaking of which, it's a 32" barrel and with that much metal removed it makes a flinter TC Hawken feel just right.
