I like the platypus analogy. To my eye that is the perfect description of the Perdersoli Pennsylvania rifle.
The Pedersoli Pennsylvania Rifle doesn't have enough features of a real Pennsylvania Longrifle to even qualify as a "platypus". :barf:

It's a shame. They produce some good interpretations of some historical guns so they could do so much more without much effort.

Sorry if some owner is offended but this gun is an abomination and doesn't merit the name Pennsylvania.

The Italians always get their metal right and usually botch the wood horribly. :idunno:
I buy Italian revolvers, but I'd never buy a long gun.

Seeing Through the Eyes of Yesterday http://www.hootalrifleshop.org/golden_mean.htm
I got this book quite a while ago. It's a very good read.
The Golden Mean is pleasing to the eye; and is a practical guide for setting up areas that have a natural flow; from one point to another.A natural "blending" of sorts.
I believe the Ancients wanted a math formula that would define form and function together.
That's a tall order; especially when dealing with nature..
Some guns have it; and some don't.
I like the flintlocks that go boom; shoot straight, and look good.
Then all I have to work on is the jerk on the trigger ! :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :idunno:
