    Middlesex trading Co?

So, I am days away from pullin the trigger on buying 2 to 3 weapons from them and wanted a last minute review from blokes in the know. Are these as useful as they claim? ( memories of Microsoft claiming to make our lives easier comes to mind) Or,... are they as shoddy as the price would suggest?

not sure where to post this so I opted for this being "general" Im lookin at getting my 1803 Harpers Ferry back from a friend including the better part of 2 lbs BP. I promised I'd look up the hazmat shipping rate but have so far been unsuccessful. I know its a flat rate that from TotW etc...

as in head and shank. do these actually exist or is there a way to do Tacked knife sheaths w their steel shanked counterparts? All I have found from Etsy to TotW and Crazy Crow is plated or solid brass heads but all w steel shanks. On an earlier post I had asked about techniques for doing...

    Grease Hole?

Hoping this is the right location for this, but I just watched the most recent Ep in which he made a wee flinter for his son to eventually shoot. In the process of making it, he installed a "Grease hole" or lube hole. Is this strictly a regional and or era based thing? I ask because I had...

    "musket wadding"

Pretty sure this topic has been covered before, but, I cldnt find it, so... this is a term you hear alot in movies or come across in historical writings and fiction. Is this what it sounds like as a wad of paper, leather or regional fiber simply stuffed on top of the charge and or on top of the...

Cut lead bar ammo for muskets in Turkey

this is a vid I stumbled on looking up tutorials for my niece. The very thought of just lead bars cut into rough cubes as ammunition floored me, but not as much as the ballistic gelatin tests. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mwhmk-4bDS4

    Novice sounding question;

is there such a thing as a 1/2 stock musket, musketoon etc? I just went through DGW page and found nothing. Not 1/2 stock that is.

    olive oil and Beeswax recipes

now, I am certain this topic has been covered, beaten and glared at more than once, but as I just stated on another thread, it seems most comercial lubes aren't for cold weather use. I was poking round TotW last night when I read that as a disclaimer on all but all of them. I have heard darn...

leather wads, chewed RB and Buck n ball loads

I partially covered this in the Flintlocks section ("Chewed round ball"), but, my purpose in posting this here is more in ref to using a leather 5/8" leather wads instead of the store bought fiber wads etc. Anyone here have any exp. in this and with what results? Now, I plan on doing this out...

    Blunderbus

I'm sure this has been hashed, beaten and glared at a few times, but does anyone know of a good source to find, buy and/or build one? I've looked into TotW, but all I have found is books on the topic.

    "Chewed round balls"

    issues w my 1803

just went to the range, and my shifting from .015s helped ALLOT! didnt have to fight to seat the ball this time. My only other option was to locate .525 rbs... not sure if those even exist. But, going to a .010 patch did it with out me having to mount up a shopping posse. However, still having...

    a SciFi gaff

I am a fan of movies, and my tastes range all over the board. A fave of mine in the scifi field is 12 monkeys with Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt... stay with me, here. At the end of the story, the hero (Willis is handed a gun to take out the villain with... IT WAS A LEMAT! All I can guess is it...

    Howdah Hunters Pistol

This is a bit of an oddball, as it's a cap lock, a smooth bore (20 ga) AND a pistol. Makes it kinda confusing as to where to post questions, but... suggested load from Perdisoli is 25 gr 2FF... but nothing in ref at the time to lead. RB is obvious, but I have never loaded shot before and dont...
