    Pedersoli Flintlock Kentucky Pistol

John, that is a really beautiful pistol you created, and it is inspiring me to consider getting a kit in the future and doing similar modifications. What extra parts did you order, as in the actual parts numbers, if you have them? Can you recommend any visual references that you used for the...

Fun with the Great Plains Pistol This Afternoon

Hi Bill, That shop was probably Grundman's Sporting Goods, which is still there in Rio Dell, run by the same family as when you bought your 1851. The folks there have been a great help to me over the years with guns and hunting advice.

Fun with the Great Plains Pistol This Afternoon

If you are not too attached to the Lyman pistol, you may want to look at the Pedersoli Kentucky pistol in their flintlock version. Folks seem to like them for their build quality and accuracy.

How to Fix Rifling on Lyman Plains Pistol?

Early this year I put together a nice .54 Lyman Plains Pistol. Unfortunately after I did all the wood shaping and filing of the tang etc to be flush with the stock, and after staining and finishing, I test fired the pistol and found that it could not achieve groups better than about 5" at 15...
