What type of bed, a rope bed or something like that? I think Foxfire Book #1 tells how to make one of them, you could probably figure out a way to make it somewhat portable, easy to take apart.
 
this is a mt. man camp the bed is a simple thing, with slats to sleep on ( or foam if you like) and covered with a nice quilt ,you see my woman takes real good care of me and is proad of our camp. :hmm:
